Silica

Description

Silica, also known as silicon dioxide, is the name for a group of minerals composed of silicon and oxygen. It has been known since ancient times. Silica exists in nature in many crystalline forms of which quartz is by far the most common.  Most of the Silica sold for industrial use are named Silica Sand in the form of quartz. Our Silica Sand grains are sub-angular to rounded-off and have an off-white colour.

Applications and markets

Depending on its physical, chemical and mechanical characteristics such as shape, color, size distribution and strength, Silica is used in the glass, pigment, ceramics, construction, foundry, plastics, oil drilling, abrasive, chemical and many other industries.
